At each crossroad in life, there is a road chosen and a road not taken. Sometimes we actually do the choosing and sometimes the way is chosen for us. I am thankful that although I have turned down a few roads that were rocky, in the end God smoothed the path and brought me to the next pass, better able to discern His direction and to trust Him better, either way. All roads bring us closer to Him who guides our path. I am grateful for His faithfulness; thankful to know He is Sovereign over all my paths.
Thank you Lord:

Psalm 100
1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.[a]
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
May you and your families be
blessed with many reasons for
joy and thanksgiving.

For we are God’s masterpiece.
He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
~Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
I’m thankful for OPPORTUNITIES to
1. Travel, and see different parts of the world.
2. Sponsor children in foreign countries, including a little girl I’ve met in Guatemala.
3. Serve with friends. The Lord has opened so many interesting doors for us!
4. Live in a free country. Americans take so many privileges for granted.
5. Teach God’s Word. I still can’t believe He’s called me and equipped me for such an amazing thing.

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” (Philippians 10:13)
Thankful that God created a purpose for me.
Thankful that He gives me the desire to complete that purpose.
Thankful that He gives me the skills & abilities needed to fulfill my purpose.
Thankful for family & friends who encourage me to walk in that purpose.
Thankful that He will complete that purpose in ways far beyond what I can ask or think!
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!

November is a great time for cultivating an attitude of gratitude. November has become synonymous with thankfulness in our associations.
Thankfulness is our response to the countless ways that God expresses His goodness in our lives.
Because God is good, and chooses to shower us with blessings, we have lots of reasons to be thankful. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I can get so caught up in enjoying my blessings, that I forget to express gratitude to the giver. When my first child was born, I remember rocking him and wondering, how do I love God first when I hold the wonder of this child in my arms?

This morning Lord, I am thankful for the little gifts that you’ve sprinkled throughout my days…
- What is it about that first sip of hot coffee in the morning? Even my inexpensive stuff from our Super Wal-Mart makes me smile in anticipation. The aroma…oh such a beautiful aroma! Thank you God, for that first sip of coffee.
- My white towels are stacked on top of the washer. Folding them as I pull them from the dryer, the white fluffiness gives me pleasure. Why didn’t I think of white towels and bleach when my sons were little? So easy! Thank you God, for my folded towels.

Sometimes life gets so busy, it’s easy to forget how blessed I am. Today I’m thinking about, and thanking God for His blessings I often take for granted.
The freedom to worship our one true God.
The means to feed and provide for my family.
Warm clothes to wear on cold days.
My health and the desire to exercise.
The privilege of working at my church.
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT
What blessings are you thankful for today that can sometimes be taken for granted?

“If I can’t give thanks, trust, and worship the Lord in every “season,” in the face of any set of facts which may touch my life, I am not really a believer. It is here, in my corner of God’s earth, that I am assigned my lessons in the School of Faith.” Elisabeth Elliot
We can misjudge life sometimes and totally miss the divine opportunities wrapped up in the unplanned and unappreciated moments. Blessing God for the blessings disguised as curses. Gifts misunderstood. Is hard. And the harsh reality is, I don’t believe they are blessings, I don’t believe that God is a good gift giver who loves me.
