Can I do all things?

Ive sat here for almost an hour trying to put my thoughts into words. Ive been staring at my bible, flipping through the pages, hoping something jumps out at me. Ive tried just praying- for words, insight, inspiration.

I have none.

So I am going to just type. Type what is on my mind and in my heart.

Tomorrow is our first day of Homeschool. Mark and I made the decision Friday to not wait until next year to start- We felt God was leading us now to do what he had placed on our hearts for the last month.

Its amazing, finding yourself smack square in the middle of Gods desire for you and your life.

He Wept.

Have you ever thought about that? Jesus wept. In the midst of his heartache, in the midst of his impending death. He wept. He cried out visibly to his Father, praying that the cup would be taken from his hand.

When our children are hurting, scared or tired, they weep. We wrap our arms around them and tell them that it is okay, that it will get better, that they are loved. We rush to their sides, and attend to their needs, because thats what mothers do. After all, these are our babies.

Yet, when we, as moms, wives and women hurt, we hold it in.

Refuel us Lord..

Proverbs 31:30.. Charm is deceptive, beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

All we have heard this past week in the media is about Anna Nicole Smith. I have been burdened by it so I thought I would write about it from a Christian view point. I couldn’t figure out at first why I was so drawn to the hype of it. Then I realized it isn’t because of her notoriety, fame, wealth, it is the intense sadness of her life that I connected with. I am saddened by the life she chose and how she covered up the pain through exploitation of her body, wealth, drugs.

What If…

Stay with what you heard from the beginning, the original message. Let it sink into your life. If what you heard from the beginning lives deeply in you, you will live deeply in both Son and Father. This is exactly what Christ promised: eternal life, real life!
-1 John 2:24

Edited to add: Please keep Janice in your prayers, You can read about her situation here

Sense of Community

Just as lotions and fragrance give sensual delight, a sweet friendship refreshes the soul.
Proverbs 27:9

A few months ago, we announced that there were great things coming in the future from Faith Lifts. It has always been the heart of Laura and Myself (and the 5M4M team as well) to provide you with not only encouragement, but a place to find others of like mindedness. We are very excited to announce one of the many blessings coming from Faith Lifts!

As bloggers, we know how much we enjoy meeting others who are in the “same boat” as ourselves, so to speak.

Hold Steady…

Rest in the Lord and wait Patiently for Him..Psalms 37:7

I remember vividly the time I decided to pray for patience… My children were young and of course I wanted to be the best mommy I could be, however I needed to work on my Patience and figured who would be better to help me than God!! Well you have heard the saying, don’t pray for patience or you better be ready for a big lesson. It seemed like the whole week God put some big obstacles in my path and I remember telling God Ok never mind NO more patience.

Do you hear them?

doubt.jpg

You drive by her house everyday. Its the one on the corner that hasn’t been painted in years, the front porch steps are broken and her children play on the other side of the broken fence.

You walk past him every morning to pay for your gas. His cup is always empty and his dirty hand is always outstretched.

You see the mom in the grocery store, 3 kids screaming in the back of a cart. You see the lines of a hard life on her face, as she tries to hold back the tears.

You see them every day. You try to look away, because after all you dont want to make them feel uncomfortable (atleast that is what you tell yourself).

There is no Music in a “Rest”

I am so blessed to be a part of an awesome Church with a huge music ministry. I sing in the choir at Church. At home music is a huge part of my life as well. I love to sing in the choir or ensemble or as a soloist. I love how both of my children are blessed musically as well. I love when my daughter plays the piano (pictured above). During choir rehearsals I love to receive a brand new piece of music that has yet to be learned. I love watching it become a beautiful expression of harmony within all sections of the choir that make up the whole piece of music.
