Hiatus

Faith Lifts is unfortunately on a temporary break as we search for a new leader to coordinate and manage the daily efforts of running this group blog.

Behind the scenes there is a huge amount of work to be done, and we are so very thankful to Lundie and Tamera for all the work they have both devoted to Faith Lifts. It is a big job and we appreciate all the time and work that both Lundie and Tamera gave to running Faith Lifts. Sadly, it is time for them both to focus their efforts on other areas and so we must look for another leader.

When my children were very small, we would venture outside for brisk walks around the block. As soon as they could no longer see our home they immediately went into panic! “Mommy, Mommy, how will we find our way home?” Any time they didn’t recognize their surroundings, they felt fear settle into their tiny hearts. I would do all I could to let them know that Mommy knew where we were. As they grew older they were able to understand that we weren’t far from home and they were able to trust that Mommy knew how to get to our destination.

Seeking Your Face

by Kathleen

The relationship between my Savior and I has grown amazingly over the years. I was reflecting on how remote, how far off the Lord seemed to me when I first came to know Christ. I was unsure, a little skeptical at times but wanting to know more. I was searching. I wasn’t radically saved as some people are. For me, it was more of a long walk with the Lord, a friendship. I spent time getting to know Him and I wanted Him to know all about me. I wanted a relationship although I don’t think I could have put my feelings into words.

Seeking the Father

Prayer for me comes from deep within me. It is a personal in-depth conversation between me and my Lord. God is saying to me, I am here, I am listening lets talk!

Power of prayer for me is the power that comes to us when we realize that God can be, and is more than willing to be our point of reference in the midst of all that goes on in our busy hectic lives. The steadfastness of God rather than the incomplete fragile inconsistencies of ourselves. It is a power that comes when I am able to be centered and anchored in a belief and rooted in a truth which is deeper than the day to day issues we struggle with.

Can I do all things?

Ive sat here for almost an hour trying to put my thoughts into words. Ive been staring at my bible, flipping through the pages, hoping something jumps out at me. Ive tried just praying- for words, insight, inspiration.

I have none.

So I am going to just type. Type what is on my mind and in my heart.

Tomorrow is our first day of Homeschool. Mark and I made the decision Friday to not wait until next year to start- We felt God was leading us now to do what he had placed on our hearts for the last month.

Its amazing, finding yourself smack square in the middle of Gods desire for you and your life.

He Wept.

Have you ever thought about that? Jesus wept. In the midst of his heartache, in the midst of his impending death. He wept. He cried out visibly to his Father, praying that the cup would be taken from his hand.

When our children are hurting, scared or tired, they weep. We wrap our arms around them and tell them that it is okay, that it will get better, that they are loved. We rush to their sides, and attend to their needs, because thats what mothers do. After all, these are our babies.

Yet, when we, as moms, wives and women hurt, we hold it in.

Refuel us Lord..

Proverbs 31:30.. Charm is deceptive, beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

All we have heard this past week in the media is about Anna Nicole Smith. I have been burdened by it so I thought I would write about it from a Christian view point. I couldn’t figure out at first why I was so drawn to the hype of it. Then I realized it isn’t because of her notoriety, fame, wealth, it is the intense sadness of her life that I connected with. I am saddened by the life she chose and how she covered up the pain through exploitation of her body, wealth, drugs.

What If…

Stay with what you heard from the beginning, the original message. Let it sink into your life. If what you heard from the beginning lives deeply in you, you will live deeply in both Son and Father. This is exactly what Christ promised: eternal life, real life!
-1 John 2:24
