A Child Changes Everything

UntoUsAChildIsBorn2
Fifteen years ago on Christmas Eve, the birth of my oldest son changed my life. All that God’s Word says about God as Father and me as His child became more real to me that day. Becoming a parent amplified my understanding of how God the Father feels about me as His child.

“But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)

Thankful for Purpose

Thanksgiving 1
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” (Philippians 10:13)

Thankful that God created a purpose for me.

Thankful that He gives me the desire to complete that purpose.

Thankful that He gives me the skills & abilities needed to fulfill my purpose.

Thankful for family & friends who encourage me to walk in that purpose.

Thankful that He will complete that purpose in ways far beyond what I can ask or think!

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!

3. Thank You for a son who likes to get me plain potato chips instead of something for himself,
just because he knows they’re my favorite treat.

4. Thank you for a son who enjoys sitting on my lap and holding my hand,
even though he’s a teenager and mom isn’t cool anymore.

Even teenage “besties” (oh how I wish only teenagers used that term) don’t disclose 100%. Just not possible.

No one really reads mind, thank goodness and knows all of another’s thoughts, feelings, hopes & dreams. Can we can even go so far as to say no one knows every aspect of themselves either? That we don’t even really completely know ourselves?

Ever have someone tell you something they’ve observed in you that surprised you?
