God Supplies the Need

“The finger of God that points the way is on the hand of God that supplies the need.” I heard that quote at a Missions Conference when I was young, and I have always remembered it. The speaker was talking about those who are called to be missionaries and pointing out that if God called one to the mission field, He would provide the means to get there. As I have grown older, though, I have realized that the quote is true for me in every aspect of my life.

God has called me to be a wife and mother. He will provide strength when I am tired, frustrated, and discouraged.

God has called me to home school my children. He will provide the resources and the wisdom I need.

Whatever God may call me to do, He will also equip me to do.

Paul reminds us:

I Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

And again:

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

When you are feeling overwhelmed with what you believe God is calling you to do, remember that if He calls you to do it, He will provide the strength and the means. Thank you, Lord!

I love this! It reminds me of the quote that says, “God does not call the equipped, but He equips the called”. I love that when God calls us, He will supply every need to get us to where we are going.

I am so thankful for the many times the Lord has proven Himself true in this very way. I just need to faithfully put one foot in front of the other, or write one word at a time and God will do the rest! Thanks for this reminder today!!
