One of Those Days

It’s been one of those days.

Who am I trying to fool? It’s been one of those weeks!

I can’t really explain it. Nothing big. No major disruptions. Just the blahs. Lack of focus.

I’ve let little annoyances become pervasive distractions. My productivity is down. My organization is gone. My normally upbeat cheerful self is less than upbeat and cheerful.

Can you relate?

I wish I knew what caused days like this. I wish I knew when that switch was going to get flipped so I could avoid it.

Then my wishes turn into TRUTHS.

For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:9b-10

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Psalm 46: 1&10

How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter  in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7

The Lord doesn’t give me a “SNAP OUT OF IT!”

The Lord covers me with His love. His mercy. His grace.

He reminds me that I can come to Him on good days and “blah” days. He wants me to rest in His presence, to find my shelter in the shadow of His wings.

I may not be back to my bouncy bubbly self yet, but I am filled with God’s peace and His presence . . . and truthfully, I can’t think of a better place to be.

Father, Thank you for loving me just the way I am. Thank you for faithfully providing all that I need, especially when all that I need is the reminder of Your loving presence and provision. Amen.

I can’t thank you enough for these words of encouragement! I have been feeling like this for a while now, especially today when my 2year old is up way too early and I’m not quite into the day yet. Let us praise God even through our blah days for when we are weak He is strong!!!

Meaghan, I am so thankful this blessed you. Two year old energy can be draining. I remember how much I loved them AND how very tired I was. Praising God for His love and strength. Prayers for blessings lifted for you this morning.

    Loved your post, Deb!
He’s always there, isn’t He. Ready to lavish us with His love…and I’ve been learning lately. During those blah days to lean into Him a little deeper. Not so I get pulled out of it, but just so I can survive it with a joy-filled heart.

Thanks for being so honest and encouraging us mother hearts today!

    All for Him,
    Nikki

Nikki, I appreciate your words of encouragement. You’re right somedays I am thankful to survive and when it is with a joy-filled heart I must that the Holy Spirit for a measure of His power. God is so good!

    Hi Deb,

Thank you for the reminder that the Lord does not give us a snap out of it. Although I found this to be true in my life, I can say that he has done that for people in the scripture when he has given visions. For example, Paul was a kind of snap out of it. Or maybe that was a “snap into it!”

    Thank you for the post.

Whether “snap out of it” or “into it” – it was certainly a wake up call. And you’re right occasionally we need one of those. So thankful that God uses whatever necessary to mold and shape us. Thanks for stopping to share with us. God bless you.
