I’m not exactly sure how it happened, but somehow, we ended up with over four hundred seventy-five children in our church’s Vacation Bible School this year. I am directing the preschool, and over one hundred of those are my preschoolers! All I can say is “Wow!”
While I am definitely pleased to have an influence for Christ over so many little lives this week, I am also a little fearful. Directing a program of this size is not easy. So many things can go wrong. So many important things can be forgotten. As I was thinking about this, I began to feel a little panicked. I do not know if I am capable of doing this. What if I mess up? What if I leave out something?
And then the words of Paul came to mind:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
And I was reminded that it will not be done in my strength, but in the power of Christ. I am weak. I am tired. Sometimes I am unorganized. Often I am overwhelmed. But, Christ is all-powerful and His grace is sufficient. In fact, when I am weak, His power can shine through even more. Because then, it cannot be in done in my strength, only in His, and He will get the glory.
That is great what you are doing! When I taught children at Bible study no matter what, if I forgot something I always had cookies on hand to make up for it…they never knew any different. LOL
Best of luck to you!
I stumbled on your website researching 2 Cor. 12:9-10. It’s good to be reminded that it’s all about His glory. His grace is always sufficient, and He is always enough.
