Cling to Jesus and Remain

In all my life and in all I have learned, all the good, the trials, the storms, the lovely and the hard, I know one thing for certain and above all else…I must cling to Jesus.

I have to cling to Jesus.

To cling is to have a strong emotional attachment or dependence. To remain or linger as if resisting complete dissipation or dispersal.

Depend  on Him. Linger in His presence.

If I don’t…If I let go even for an instant, I will dissipate. I’ll become less.
Purposeless, faithless, graceless, loveless, godless.

I have to cling.

Cling until my knuckles are white and my muscles are tense and Jesus becomes a part of my hold, my grasp, my fist.
Cling to Jesus.

Cling to Jesus, beloved.

When we cling to Jesus, we depend on Him to make us more and enough. To fill us and empty us only to fill us again.
When we cling to Jesus we remain in Him. We linger in his presence.
We become full of him and like him and absorbed in Him.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who remain in me and I in Him will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5.

This is what the Christian walk is all about. This is the essence of what we are called to do.

When we are rooted in Him, the essence of all He is becomes who we are. The fruit of His love, his peace, His joy, His goodness…it becomes rooted in us and grows within us. We must remain in Him.

To remain is “to be left when the other parts are gone or have been used (Webster).”

When everything that you were is lost…remain.
When all that you believed seems wrong…remain.
When your thoughts are full of fear and insecurity and hopeless…remain.
When all you desire is too far from your reach…remain.
When the works of your own hands becomes fruitless…remain.
When you have nothing left in your hands and all that you once held tightly to slips from your fingertips…Remain.

Remain in Him and He will fill you, He will purpose you and the fruit that you produce will be astounding and more than you ever imagined.

How do you remain in Him?

  1. Meditate on Scripture daily.
  2. Memorize Scripture weekly.
  3. Captivate your thoughts moment by moment.

Cling to Him.
Remain in Him.
Apart from Him you can do nothing.
