God Will Make a Way

God will make a way
Last month, here on 5 Minutes for Faith, I wrote about the day God stopped me in my tracks. He reminded me that no matter what I think I know, only He knows the full and complete picture of His plans.

That same day, although I don’t remember what I was reading at the time, this verse was put in front of me.

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20 MSG

Since then, this same verse, Ephesians 3:20, has been brought to my attention over and over, at times when I wasn’t turning to it in my Bible.

And I know God is speaking.

I don’t know exactly what He’s referring to, but I don’t believe in coincidence. I believe He’s reinforcing the fact that He can do anything—and I can’t even imagine or dream the possibilities.

And it reminds me that God makes a way where there is no way.

When it all seems impossible…if it’s His will, He will make a way.

It must have seemed impossible for the Israelites to escape Egypt. But God made a way they couldn’t have even imagined was possible—to cross the Red Sea on dry land. (Exodus 13:1-21)

When there was no hope of having one child with his wife Sarah, God made Abraham the father of many nations. It was God’s will, and He made the way for it to happen. (Genesis 21:1-7)

When sin entered the world, we were separated from God. No sacrifice we could offer would ever be enough to reunite us with Him. But where there was no way, God made a way. (John 14:6)

Jesus.

Jesus is the only way back to God—and He is the way we never could have conceived.

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20 MSG

I can’t see what might be in my days ahead of me, and what I hope for may seem impossible. But God is reminding me…

He can do anything, and nothing is impossible for Him.

Because God makes a way where there is no way.

Has there been a time when you felt the same message was being put in front of you repeatedly? Even if you didn’t understand it, did you find comfort in it?

    Laura,
Thank you for sharing the verse in Ephesians. I feel God is working deeply, gently and quietly inside of me. I am aware of the calm feeling I have had yesterday and today. He is here, inside.
    Goodnight, Barb
