God is Everywhere

godiseverywhere
I struggle to see God but I believe He is here.

I believe He is everywhere and daily I search for Him. Daily I pray for Him to reveal Himself to me, to show me His presence, and remind me of His love for me.

Today, I want to encourage you with something that I believe He spoke into my heart one morning while studying my children’s new grammar for their upcoming school year. I won’t go into details but that morning I read in two different places of how God was in the details of our life. When I read them, I just stopped and smiled. I knew in that moment that He was talking to me and I prayed for Him to help me see Him in my details.

Now let me say this, I had already chosen the details where I would look for Him. Do you do that? Pray for God to open the eyes of your heart to His presence and then put blinders on them by limiting His presence? I do it more than I realized. Then what happens? Well, let me tell you what happened to me.

God didn’t show up.

He told me to look for Him and then He didn’t show up… where I wanted and expected Him to be. But can I tell you that He did show up in so many other places that day. I didn’t find God exactly where I wanted Him, but I found Him in grammar and in the number 7. In musical notes and the colors of the rainbow. Inside the structures, styles, and patterns of a sentence. I also found Him in a love note left by one of my children framed with flowers and adorned with the little change he had, a precious gift to a 9 year old boy.

I realized in those moments, that God is everywhere I allow Him to be, not that I give Him permission but that I give myself permission to truly see God everywhere instead of just where I want Him to be.

Where might you find God today?

Give yourself permission to truly see Him, pray for God to open the eyes of your heart to His presence and then leave them open, wide open.

God is everywhere.

Oh Kelli, yes! I want to see God where He wants to be found, in the mess and mundaneness of my life. Beautiful post!

Kelli, this is a great insight. He is in the details, but maybe isn’t doing what we expected. He is always up to something better than we hoped. Blessings on your school year!
