A Great Exchange

Can I be honest and just share my heart with you today?

I need Jesus.

And in all honesty all I have to offer you today and everyday really is Jesus, and He is more than enough. Right? I woke up this morning with the heavy weight of my little world on my heart, overwhelmed by all of the responsibilities scattered across my day.

It was heavy, too heavy for this stretched wife and momma just trying to do it all in one day, everyday.

I needed Jesus.

I needed to be overwhelmed by His beauty and truth. I needed to be reminded that I’m not alone and that He doesn’t expect for me to be perfect, He is with me and He is perfect so that I don’t have to be. He needed to remind me of who I am in Him and who He is.

I took the weight of my world and I gave it all to Jesus and He in return gave me three things to carry for the day instead:

  1.  a word. Humility.
  2. an example. His.
  3. a gift. Grace.

Today is still heavy at times but then I remember  the word, the example, and the gift that He gave me and I feel weightless,  overwhelmed by Him, able to carry my world once more.

May you be encouraged to find your strength in Jesus today, for I know that little world you’re carrying is heavy. Give it to Him, make a great exchange with God today.

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Philippians 24-8

Kelli, this is beautiful. I absolutely LOVE the three things you were given to help you carry the heavy weight of your little world. I’m praying God will spread some of those three things my way, too. My own “little world” is so much easier to bear when I remember that it’s not me bearing it, but Jesus.
