Do you hear them?

doubt.jpg

You drive by her house everyday. Its the one on the corner that hasn’t been painted in years, the front porch steps are broken and her children play on the other side of the broken fence.

You walk past him every morning to pay for your gas. His cup is always empty and his dirty hand is always outstretched.

You see the mom in the grocery store, 3 kids screaming in the back of a cart. You see the lines of a hard life on her face, as she tries to hold back the tears.

You see them every day. You try to look away, because after all you dont want to make them feel uncomfortable (atleast that is what you tell yourself).

There is no Music in a “Rest”

I am so blessed to be a part of an awesome Church with a huge music ministry. I sing in the choir at Church. At home music is a huge part of my life as well. I love to sing in the choir or ensemble or as a soloist. I love how both of my children are blessed musically as well. I love when my daughter plays the piano (pictured above). During choir rehearsals I love to receive a brand new piece of music that has yet to be learned. I love watching it become a beautiful expression of harmony within all sections of the choir that make up the whole piece of music.

God’s visible Nudges

I’m a woman who is having to learn how to become a single independent woman and single mother after 22 years of marriage to a once Godly man and leader in our home. I have a very strong Faith in my Lord. I constantly make everyday decisions based on waiting to see how the Lord would direct me,that I once would have done with a husband.
I had always heard leaders in the church make statements like “God wants to be a husband” God will be your dad you never had” ect..I remember thinking and why would God want to be burdened with our everyday mundane things?

Confessions of a Chocoholic

The healthy balance of making lifestyle changes that ensure a

healthier body tomorrow with a celebration of who you are today will

help you live each day to the fullest. Danna Demetre

I love to eat; I always have. Chocolate? Yum. Salsa and cheese dip? Love ’em! Italian food? Gimme some!

When I was younger, my body accepted my sometimes-poor eating habits with no adverse side effects. But as I stopped growing in height, I started growing in girth. In fact, each time my life changed in a dramatic way, I put on weight.

First, there was the freshman fifteen. Then I put on the newlywed twenty, and later, the new baby thirty.

Sunday’s Promise: Custom Made

“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’ —the coyotes and the buzzards— Because I provided water in the desert, rivers through the sun-baked earth, Drinking water for the people I chose, the people I made especially for myself, a people custom-made to praise me.
-Isaiah 43:15-17

Don’t you see it!?! Custom made to praise Him- what an amazing calling!

Thank you, Father, for that amazing calling.

New Each Morning

“Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be.” ~ Marsha Petrie Sue

“Stop picking at your little Sister”, “leave your Brother alone”, had been my mantras of the day. Now my head was pounding and patience was running thin. It was almost time for Hubby to get home and I had begun my daily ritual of thinking about what to feed everyone, when the doorbell rang. I opened the front door to find two scruffy looking individuals with clipboards in their hands. I didn’t even let them utter a single word, when I blurted out, “we’re not interested”, then rudely slammed the door as hard as I could in their faces.

A Net of Joy

When I was a young Christian, I worked in the same medical office with Jody. She and I had alot in common, we were close in age and both Christian. Jody was more mature in her faith and because we lost touch, will never know what an indelible mark she left on my life. During the couple of years I worked along side her, I was in awe of her caring ways and giving spirit. When it was time to go on a lunch run, she was always first to offer to drive. During my first pregnancy, she was the one who put together my baby shower.

He is the reason…

Faith Lifts would like to wish you and yours a very blessed Christmas. We pray that your holiday is surrounded by family and friends, and that you take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, Christ’s birth.

-Luke 2:8 –
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
