He Knows You

Have you ever put up a front and hidden your true feelings from others?

Have you ever acted a certain way, just to be liked or accepted?

I think it’s safe to say that, at some point, we’ve all done this. Whether it’s during our teen years due to peer pressure, or later in life, to try to fit into a group of friends or family, there’s probably a time we can all think of when we weren’t true to ourselves because we were trying to please others.

Sometimes, the desire to be liked or make others happy can be so powerful that just being ourselves doesn’t seem like enough.

But with God, we never have to feel that way.

“Lord, you have examined me
and know all about me.
You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know my thoughts before I think them.
You know where I go and where I lie down.
You know everything I do.
Lord, even before I say a word,
You already know it.
You are all around me—in front and in back—
and have put your hand on me.
Your knowledge is amazing to me;
It is more than I can understand.” Psalm 139:1-6

God knows all about us and loves us, just the way we are. We don’t’ have to try to hide our mistakes or gloss over our feelings. He knows us inside and out.

So the next time you feel like who you are isn’t enough, be encouraged by the fact that God made you, He knows you, and He loves you. You are precious to Him, no matter what you’ve done or haven’t done, no matter what you’ve said or haven’t said, no matter how good or bad you think you’ve lived.

He knows you and He loves you.

And He wants you to love yourself too.
