A Lesson from Children

jesusThis past Sunday during our church’s little children’s moment, where the kids are invited to come up to the front to hear a word of encouragement from the speaker, my husband turned and whispered to me, “Isn’t it funny how their answer to every question is Jesus.” We both smiled.

Have you ever noticed that?

As a parent it can become frustrating as they get older. You hope that with time and maturity their answers will become a little deeper theologically, but as I get older I am returning to the foundation of my faith. To this one deep theological truth. That Jesus is enough.

That is it.

As I laid in the bath this morning bracing myself for a busy day ahead of me, I thought about all of the many hats I needed to wear, which ones to wear first, and then how to organize them all in one day. I quickly began to drown under the pressure and demand and as I came up for air I asked myself how can I do it all? I had no answer. So I asked God and I all I heard was, Jesus.

Jesus.

He is enough.

He is the answer to all of my questions. Look to Jesus. He is the beginning and the end. The author and perfector of my faith. It is in Him that I live and move and breathe. The simple truth of who He is and what He did for me is enough, is where every question is answered

Jesus.

He is enough.

Less of me, more of Him.

Sometimes I think we make our faith more complicated than it was every meant to be. I think it is as simple as the five letter word that become flesh and entered into His own story. Jesus.

What do you think? What are you facing today? What is the answer? Is it more than Jesus?

I encourage you to find your answers in this one deep theological truth.

“all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:16-17
