A Note from Charis

As you can see, my arms and my heart are both extremely full… with kids!  My name is Charis (Ka-reese) and welcome to 5 minutes for Faith!   This is a perfect place for you and I to meet because sometimes all we have is five minutes, right?!  I am a 33 year old mommy to 5 busy boys 8 and under and wife to the most amazing man on the planet for the past 10 years.  Our family lives as full time missionaries in the remote villages of Northern California.  Our ministry target is overseeing The Watch House of Prayer in Redding.  Life is quite the wild ride and God never lets things get boring around here!

I see blogging as an extension of ministry, adding to it the worship leading, praying, counseling, pastoring, and teaching that is our life.   I have always loved to write and have a pile of old journals I have kept over the years by my bed.  Often I write these days while holding a baby in my arms – one-handed typing very well may be a spiritual gift that mommies get!

I understand what it is to only have 5 minutes sometimes to steal away to seek the Lord.  I believe He can take a hungry, sincere 5 minutes consistently sown and bring much fruit from it.  Never think that if you can’t spend an hour it doesn’t count to God – every glance of our eyes towards Him counts!
