The Shelter of God’s Promises (Online Study Beginning)

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV

Promises.

If you’re like me, it doesn’t take long to learn who can be trusted to keep their promises and who can’t. After a few times of being disappointed, I become leery of trusting someone when they say something will or won’t happen.

But there is One whose promises can be counted on. Always.

God doesn’t break His promises. His Word is solid, it can be counted on, and His promises are for you and for me.

Sheila Walsh, author, Bible teacher, and featured speaker with Women of Faith explores nine of God’s promises, including provision, peace, confidence, love, grace, hope, and strength, in her book The Shelter of God’s Promises.

She says, “In these uncertain times, I know 100 percent that I can stake my life on the unshakeable, unchanging promises of God!”

Unshakeable. Unchanging. Promises of God.

When you’re facing the storms in life, where do you turn? We can turn to God where He offers us the protection and shelter of His promises.

You know God’s promises, but are they for you, are they for now, are they for this? If you look to your circumstances alone, it may seem that God has forgotten you. But He hasn’t. He can’t. And He wouldn’t even if He could. God is the only promise maker who is always a promise keeper. And God’s promises will never fail you! –The Shelter of God’s Promises book description

Beginning September 2, I will be hosting an online study of this book on my blog at Laura Rath ~ Journey in Faith. All are welcome to participate! Join over 45 women from 21 states and 2 countries as we study God’s promises and apply them to everyday life.

If you’ve never participated in an online study before, all you need is the book, your favorite Bible, and online access. Each week I will offer a suggested reading schedule, as well as a blog post with my thoughts on the reading. Interaction is encouraged through comments to the blog post. Read and study God’s Word when it’s most convenient for you and still be part of a study group—the best of both worlds. For more information or to sign up, visit Laura Rath ~ Journey in Faith.
