My Peace in Him

king of kings

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Philippians 2:3-8

These verses have really stuck with me throughout this year, praise God! I think one of the biggest challenges I faced in 2014 was humbling myself by leaving a career I thought I was meant for. It took everything I had to trust in Christ and have faith that His will is good and perfect.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Paul says in Philippians 1:21 “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” We are to take these words, write them on our heart and remember our worldly circumstances are only temporary and our eternal joy is with Christ in Heaven.

It is a great struggle trying to keep up with what the world expects from us and in that struggle will always be discontentment. Living my life for Christ is the only thing that has brought me true joy that goes beyond all human understanding. When I focus on magnifying Him to the world and serving Him I find the peace I crave.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

I earnestly pray that all we do and hope for in 2015 is not to the honor of men or running away from the cross, but through all trials and tribulations we be upheld by the hope Jesus offers us.

I write these words to you all not because I have it all figured out but because my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ does. Only by God’s grace, love and mercy am I going to continue to press on and live for His glory. Pray for me loved ones, I am praying for you.

I truly hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and I hope 2015 brings you closer to our precious Savior.
