Richly Blessed

Fall Street

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,and the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

~ Psalm 8:3-5

I remember a day the sky was so blue it took my breath away, the sunrise so pink I could only stand in awe. The stars that night twinkled brighter than ever a night before, or so it seemed as I gazed enthralled by God’s awesome creation.

Surrounded as I am by His constant beauty and all my eyes behold, I proclaim the greatest wonder of all is the Creator, our Holy Almighty God. He is the reason I am drawn to drink in a sunrise or sunset. He painted the indescribable, breathtaking blue sky. He placed the stars across the horizon, each one counted, each one named. He made a crown for His creation and called us mankind. He asked us to walk in fellowship with Him and enter a relationship described, “After God’s own heart.”

This is my desire, to pursue the relationship He wants me to have with my heavenly Father. This is my purpose for living, and walking in His purpose for me brings many blessings. Not the blessings of health, status, wealth, or fame, but the blessings of grace, mercy, love, peace, and joy—only to name a few!

My greatest blessing is that I know the God of the universe, who made all things and holds all things in His hands, holds me in His hands. I am His child and I delight in knowing there was a moment in time before I was formed in my mother’s womb when He thought of me, designed and created me, and ordained my days.

In the days He has given me, I choose to walk with Him and build a relationship with the One who gave me life. He gave me life in my mother’s womb, and He gave me eternal life when I accepted the gift of salvation through His Son Jesus’ death and resurrection. While I am walking day by day with the Lord, I will enjoy each day He has made. I will stand in awe of the beauty He created, and I will count myself richly blessed!
