Dare to Believe You are God’s Masterpiece

Do you like me? Am I valuable? Am I beautiful?

Psalm 139:13-14

Have you struggled with any of these  questions? The desire to know that we’re loved, valuable, secure, and accepted is  part of being human. These are the questions that our hearts ask when we are depending on ourselves to feel beautiful and whole.

What’s underneath this need to know that we have what it takes? Have you tried to build an identity on what you can accomplish or what you look like? The longing to prove we are adequate, valuable,and loved lurks beneath the surface of all our trying. You may think you’re the only one who feels this way, but we all feel this way at times.

Dare to remember. Dare to believe that God did something extraordinary when He made you.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.–Ephesians 2:10

Do you like you?

This question pries open emotions I’d rather pretend aren’t there. Most days, I have this question pushed back and covered up with the busyness of this life. But sometimes the insecurity seeps through.

Soul, do you like you? Have you forgotten to like yourself in the rush to meet the expectations of others?

Soul, are you weary under the weight of a negative self-image? Are you able to enjoy the good blessings in your life, or are you stuck worrying about what you’re not?

Soul, are you worn out with all your trying, performing for approval and acceptance, trying to be what others think you should be? Are you so anxious to please that you hide your faults and feelings?

Soul, when did you start measuring your value based on what other’s say?  Let God be your guide and seek to follow His direction. Then you can trust the results to Him, now matter what others say or don’t say.

Soul, why do you work so hard to make everything come out just right? Trust God for results are His specialty. Let go of the standard of perfection and enjoy being the precious person that you are.

When these question rise in my soul, I see there is still some distance to go. I seek the soul comfort of God’s love.

It’s time to reach for faith to believe…

Dare to Believe

God’s loving presence heals our hurts, restores our vision, and fill our lives with the indwelling Christ. He is the saver, the Savior, of our souls. We are crafted with the Master’s love.

For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:13-14

Live free with joy, my soul.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
