May I Pray for You?

Prayer

She reaches out weekly. Sometimes through email if we miss our hug at church. And when she asks how I am, I know she wants the honest truth no matter how long it takes me to get it all out. We don’t see each other as often as we’d like, but I know she lifts me up to Our Father in prayer often. And as far as I’m concerned, that’s the best kind of friend there is.

I trust her with my heart because she handles it with love and always lifts it up to Jesus for Him to take care of.

This week, as I was praying for her thanking God for her, I wondered…do you have someone in your life that you can count on to lift you up in prayer?

Friend, do you have an Aaron? Oh how I hope you do. Because there is something to knowing someone is praying for you. No matter what, where, how, or why. And I can’t escape the urge to simply do just that. For you. So if you don’t mind…may I pray these verse over you?

“To this end we always pray for you,
that our God may make you worthy of His calling
and may fulfill every resolve for good
and every work of faith by His power,
so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you,
and you in Him,
according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
II Thessalonians 1:11-12 ESV

Father, what a gift this one on the other side of the screen is. For they are Your child. Full of potential and promise. Saturated in grace with Your stamp of approval. And they’re willing to spend their precious time with my heart. Thank You, for placing them here…in my life…in a way only You could.

Lord, I know You have specific plans for them. Their journey has been chosen by You. And Father I pray You will show them the way. That they will hear the call specifically and follow with a faith only You can give. May You be glorified in their comings and goings this week, Lord. If there’s any conflict standing in their way, Jesus, may it resolve for Your good.

Help them see You working in and through them, Father. May Your grace shine on their face as they show Your love to those around them. And may You be glorified in all they do as they proclaim their Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. . .

Thank You for all that You do for her…for me…may we always give it all back to You…

Friend, I would love to continue praying for you. If you have anything more specific you would like me to pray for, please don’t hesitate to share in comments or contact me directly at simplystriving (at) gmail (dot) com. And might I challenge you to do the same for another?

Niki, I am reading this with tears welling. Thank you for this lovely prayer. I do have friends like this and they mean the world to me. But since moving to another state in the last few months, the real live skin to skin hugs cannot happen and I miss it more than I thought I would. Thank you for this beautiful post! Susie
