Where are You Looking?

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! Luke 24:1-6

Blessed Easter!

He is risen!

The other day I woke up with these words rattling around in my head.

“Why are you looking for the living among the dead? Or . . . Why are you looking for significance in things that can’t last?

Solomon said that’s “like chasing the wind.”

I was determined to learn the difference between knowledge and foolishness, wisdom and madness. But I found out that I might as well be chasing the wind. Ecclesiastes 1:17

But when I turned to look at all that I had accomplished and all the hard work I had put into it, I saw that it was all pointless. It was like trying to catch the wind. Ecclesiastes 2:11

I have also learned why people work so hard to succeed: it is because they envy the things their neighbors have. But it is useless. It is like chasing the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:4

It is useless; it is like chasing the wind. It is better to be satisfied with what you have than to be always wanting something else. Ecclesiastes 6:9

We look for popularity, success, power, beauty, wealth and status. We chase through each day trying to make a life out of things that can’t last.

For years, Solomon’s words frustrated me. I didn’t want to believe my efforts were meaningless, that I was focused on the unimportant, or wasting time on foolishness. I was a die-hard people pleaser. And in the word’s of Solomon, “that too, is like chasing the wind.”

So, will you join me today and ask yourself where you’re looking?

He is risen indeed!

Celebrate what God has done because….

I know that everything God does will continue forever. People cannot add anything to what God has done, and they cannot take anything away from it. God does it this way to make people respect Him. Ecclesiastes 3:14

Celebrate Jesus’ resurrection!

Celebrate life that lasts forever!

Look to the Living Savior for life.
